Channel 2 broadcasts under the new franchise agreements period began on November 1st, 2005. Arutz Shtaim, also called The Second Channel was an Israeli commercial television channel. It started doing experimental broadcasts funded by the television tax. Two franchise holders broadcast, dividing the week between them on a two-year rotational basis. As of 2017, Reshet broadcast from Wednesday to Saturday, and Keshet from Sunday to Tuesday. Israel Educational Television broadcasts on Channel 2 daily – Sunday to Thursday between 2 and 3 pm and between 5:30 and 6 pm, on Friday morning and afternoon and on Saturday between 11 am and 12:30 pm.
The channel’s news is produced and broadcast by the News Company  – appointed by both franchisees. Channel 2 broadcasts 22-24 hours each day.
